Annual Fund Drive

Our Annual Fund Drive is one of the school’s most important fundraising efforts and provides vital support for our operating budget.  The Annual Fund allows us to set tuition at a level that is affordable for as many families as possible, and, in part, contributes to our tuition assistance program designed to maintain economic diversity. If we did not fundraise, tuition would be more expensive for everyone.  Camellia Waldorf School is among the most diverse and least expensive independent Waldorf schools in North America.

Our Annual Fund must grow and thrive along with the children we nurture and educate.

How are the funds used?

The Annual Fund raises money for the school’s general fund.  It helps pay for teachers’ salaries, mortgage payments, heat and electricity, art supplies, and physical education equipment.  Our goal this year is $40,000; funds raised in excess of this goal could be utilized to make campus improvements as we continue to progress in transforming our new permanent site.

What is a “gap gift” and why is it important?

Each year the “gap” represents the difference between what it actually costs to educate one child at our school and the cost of tuition for one child. We ask community members to consider giving a tax-deductible gap gift to the Annual Fund to support keeping tuition as reasonable as possible.

On average, 35 – 40% of Camellia Waldorf families are receiving tuition assistance.

Camellia is committed to maintaining the socioeconomic diversity of our community, supported through our tuition assistance program. The Annual Fund plays a significant role in supporting these funds. Our tiered-tuition structure, based on financial need, expands accessibility to a high-quality Waldorf education.

Our goal is 100% participation.

When 100% of our parents, staff, and faculty donate to our Annual Fund, we send a powerful message to the broader community, and potential grant funders that our school has broad support. All currently enrolled families, extended family, community members, friends, alumni and supporters are encouraged to make a donation and help Camellia reach 100% participation.

With your financial contribution, our children will flourish in receiving another year of an extraordinary Waldorf education.

There are many ways to contribute to the Annual Fund.
