Registration for Camellia's Summer Program is open! 

June 24-28 

Circus Arts (rising 4th - 8th grade)

Camellia's Movement teacher, Ms. Gunn, will lead participants in an exploration of plate balancing, juggling, tightwire, unicycling, tumbling, and clowning skits. This circus week is for all skill levels and no prior experience is needed. 

Week 2: July 1-5  (closed July 4)

Nature Tales with Handmade Puppets (rising 1st - 3rd grade

Ms. Courtney will combine her love of storytelling using the nature that surrounds our campus to create a puppet play with the children. They will make puppets and scenery from natural materials and perform a puppet play based on the plants and animals of our local region. The camp will also include songs and games in Spanish and nature walks to the levee. Ms. Courtney is Camellia's Sunflower Kindergarten teacher and prior to joining Camellia, she was a Waldorf grades teacher as well.

Week 3: July 8-12 

Clay Creations (rising 1st - 8th grade)

Back by popular demand! Pinch pots, coil pots, slabs, score and slip. Together with Ms. Schaffer, (current Camellia Waldorf School 6th grade teacher), we will play with clay, learning some new ceramic art skills. Pieces will be painted with ceramic underglaze and then fired twice, the second time with a clear coating of glaze to make all pieces watertight and food-safe.  This class is for rising first through eighth graders. 

Week 4: July 15-19 

Thinking with our hands (rising 1st - 8th grade)

Crafts and activities will be adapted depending on each child's age, interests, and needs. Activities may include any or all of the following; Basket making, Weaving, String games, Form drawing, Sacred geometry, Watercolor painting, Sand tray sensory work, Clay modeling, Musical instruments, and Eurythmic gesture work. 

Week 5: July 22-26 

Woodworking (rising 1st-4th)

Students will enjoy a week of Woodworking with Mr. Bones. He will lead students through introductory woodworking 
projects and techniques such as sanding, rasping, and applying oil. To ensure a high-quality experience, we are limiting this class to only 15 students so don't wait to register! 

Week 5: July 22-26

Sew Fun (rising 5th - 8th grade) 

Participants will be introduced to sewing essentials, including sewing machine basics and hand stitching by
our beloved Ms. Jenny Woods. Working with up-cycled materials, students will make a custom tote bag, adorned with custom appliqués and other fun handmade accessories. 

Space is limited to only 12 students so register now so you don't lose your spot!
