Protected Path

Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How

Who it’s for: CWS children (preschool through 3rd grade), their families, and those whom CWS community members invite to the event, walk the path. All CWS community members are encouraged to participate in Protected Path through volunteering.

What: Protected Path, a parent-led event, in concert with the Francis Guild.

When: Each Year, Protected Path operates from 5 to 8 p.m. on the Saturday before Halloween. The 2014 Protected Path took place on October 25.

Where: CWS, mostly outside.

Why do we do it? Protected Path is meant to cultivate a sense of wonder for CWS children, families, and guests without the scary elements often associated with Halloween.

How we fund it: CWS families are not required to pay to walk the path, but a suggested per-person donation is encouraged. CWS community members can invite non-community members to enjoy Protected Path, but they are required to pay a per-person fee. The fees are used to pay for Protected Path expenses. Unused fees are saved in the Francis Guild fund to be used for future events and activities.

In 2014 and 2013, the per-person suggested donation for CWS families was $5. The non-community member required per person fee was also $5.
