Camellia Students Dazzle Onlookers in Annual Circus Performance

by on June 1, 2014

2014_Circus_01On Sunday, June 1st, under a warm sun, the Fifth graders, supported by Sixth and Eighth graders, preformed in their first circus.

The show was fun, entertaining and gave the students a chance to show their families, teachers and community what they’ve been learning.

We had balancing acts, unicycle riding, clowning, tumbling, gymnastics and many forms of juggling, including fire! Each child shone brightly!

Circus arts teach children patience, determination, self-confidence and trust in themselves and others.                  2014_Circus_02

Camellia Waldorf is the only local Waldorf school that teaches circus arts and holds a circus as part of its’ movement curriculum.

We are fortunate to have such a full, enriching curriculum at our school.
